Hacking Time by SlowMist: A New Era of Blockchain Security and Knowledge Sharing
In the realm of cybersecurity, the spirit of sharing is a core value of hacker culture, and Hacking Time is a key embodiment of SlowMist’s (慢雾) white hat hacker philosophy. With this belief at its core, the newly upgraded Hacking Time website is now officially online.
As a team deeply immersed in blockchain security, the SlowMist security team has accumulated extensive experience in the field while continuously integrating cutting-edge knowledge from various emerging tech sectors. Through Hacking Time, we share profound insights and practical expertise in blockchain security with leaders across different industries. The upgraded website is now divided into two main sections: External Communications and Internal Knowledge sharing, with each milestone of Hacking Time documented chronologically.
External Communications
SlowMist has always upheld the spirit of knowledge sharing and collaboration. Every Hacking Time event is an opportunity for meaningful exchanges, fostering deeper understanding of blockchain security and technology. It also provides a valuable platform for industry professionals to engage in in-depth discussions.
On December 28–29, 2019, SlowMist held the inaugural Hacking Time event, titled “A Magical Journey of Blockchain Security Attack and Defense Training.” This event was the first to reveal a series of “black box” security topics in an exclusive, closed-door training setting. During this event, we also hosted the first “SlowMist Night Talks,” where key representatives explored critical topics around security and privacy. The discussions also touched on cutting-edge regulatory policies and developments.
In the years that followed, with the ongoing support and participation of friends and partners, the “SlowMist Night Talks” continued to thrive. We cherish these moments of collaboration and shared insights, and we are deeply committed to advancing the development of a collaborative blockchain security defense system alongside the broader community.
On December 29–30, 2020, SlowMist hosted one of the most intense and unique events in the industry: the Hacking Time Blockchain Security Summit. This marked the first time we adopted keynote presentations to spark thought-provoking exchanges. The summit brought together SlowMist’s security team and top industry experts to share insights, focusing on topics such as building security frameworks, underground hacker attack-defense tactics, and securing digital assets through real-world experience.
In the “Dark Forest” of blockchain, where temptation and risks lurk in every corner, security and compliance serve as the essential compass and shield. Only by adhering to these principles can one survive, grow, and earn lasting trust in this challenging landscape. During the 2024 Web3 Carnival in Hong Kong, SlowMist hosted the “Hacking Time: Web3 Security and Compliance” event in Breakout Room 3. The session was packed with attendees, demonstrating the growing importance of security in the Web3 ecosystem. We believe the event provided participants with unique perspectives, innovative problem-solving approaches, and valuable insights into tackling Web3 security and compliance challenges.
Internal Knowledge Sharing
In addition to external events, SlowMist also conducts Internal Hacking Time sessions to nurture its hacker culture.
Since 2019, the SlowMist security team has held 27 Internal Hacking Time events, driven by a passionate group that embraces curiosity, professionalism, and a commitment to service. These individuals value the engineer’s mindset and the open-source spirit of GitHub, sharing knowledge spontaneously and striving to enhance security within the blockchain ecosystem. Their efforts reflect SlowMist’s dedication to making the blockchain space safer for everyone.
Conclusion
As a leading blockchain security company, SlowMist pride ourself on providing comprehensive security solutions to top-tier projects and ecosystems worldwide. We sincerely thank our supporters and friends who have shared valuable feedback and advice, as well as our dedicated team members for their relentless efforts. SlowMist will continue to evolve and expand the Hacking Time initiative, offering more security knowledge and capabilities to protect the blockchain ecosystem.
